#learnislam What is a "Moslem"?

Assalamu'alaikum, Sohabat.

We are likely introduced ourselves by saying our beliefs as moslem. However, do you know what does the moslem" word means?

Ya, you must have thought about "believe in Allah, always pray 5 times a day, reading qur'an, or everything related to moslem activities. Actually, all your answers above are true characteristics of believers instead of explaining the meaning of moslem itself. Then, let me tell you, my sohabat.

Moslem means people who surrender themselves to Allah 'Azza wa Jalla of what He had defined on their fates. Those people believe that whatever happen on their life is something Allah has defined in His Lauhul Mahfudz even 50.000 years before this earth had been created. With such thoughts, a moslem will rely all his life need to his creator and the Greates of all, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla. Nothing should be complained or demanded in rush. It is all for what He has planned the best for us.

If the moslem exist, what is this opponent people?

Ya, we called it as kafir means cover in english. As its meanings, a kafir means someone who close or draw himself from hidayah of islam. It closes to not accept yet all the truth of islam. Then, the word kafir is not a bad word as non-muslim said. It just a soft term to call them that maybe oneday their heart will open and accept islam as true guidance on this life and hereafter.
